When TKR kittens are healthy, up to proper weight (2 lbs.) and ready for adoption they are returned to San Francisco Animal Care and Control. Unlike other rescue organizations, Toni's Kitty Rescue provides Foster Care for kittens who run the risk of being euthanized because they are sick or underage. When our foster kittens are strong and healthy they are returned to to SFACC and adoptions take place there. Sometimes our foster volunteers find homes for their kittens while they are still in foster care and accompany adopters to SFACC to aid in the paper work. Often (but not always) the kitten will go from foster care to a permanent home without having to spend any time in the shelter.
